Are you an expert in men's grooming?
We're looking to add 1-2 amazing writers to the team for long-term work (3-5 articles/week for 6+ months).
WHO WE ARE:
We run Rooftop, a blog that specializes in giving the internet's best grooming advice and product recommendations to men.
This includes advice and recommendations in categories such as deodorants, shampoos, colognes, soaps, and more.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for native US writers with experience and passion in one or more of the following subjects:
- Body care (bar soap, body wash, deodorant...etc)
- Face care (creams, masks, moisturizers...etc)
- Hair care (shampoo, conditioner, stylizers...etc)
You do need to be an avid men's grooming enthusiast. In other words, you currently already spend a lot of your free time looking for style/grooming products and advice to look your or your partner's best (we've found this experience leads to better written articles while placing less stress on you).
If you've written for other men's style blogs, that's also a bonus. But again, not 100% necessary.

- Easy-to-read, conversational writing style
- Good at being helpful, specific, and informative
- Able to take critiques and improve your articles
What We Need From You:
Quality content (which is subjective, right?).
Every week, I will provide content briefs that contain outlines of the articles you'll be writing.
Every article usually ends up around 1,200-1,500 words. However, we've gone as high as 2,500 words before.
We don't care about length. We just care about you writing the most informative, specific, and *helpful* piece of content possible. Don't worry about SEO, we'll handle that.
You are expected to research the topic. This includes links to your sources that support your claims.
As for turnaround time, we work on a weekly schedule. This gives you time to finish a batch of articles, while giving us time to create the next round of content briefs for you.

BRAND VOICE:
What differentiates Rooftop from other men's blogs is that our articles have an expert POV and we place a big emphasis on infotainment. Someone who reads a Rooftop article shouldn't have to read any additional articles on the subject because all of their questions were answered and definitive, while also very relatable.
To check out our style, read some of the articles below. We're looking for people who can "fit" into this style of writing (you don't have to be hilarious, but it shouldn't just state the facts either)

What's In It For You?
When you work with us, you'll get a stable writing gig.
We want to work with someone who will stay with us for 6+ months to write articles every single week. Right now, we have around 130 published articles. Our goal is to get to around 300 articles by the end of the year.
We gave our last writer 6 articles per week for 5 months, so you can expect something similar. Ideally, you can handle at least 4 articles per week.
With that said, if you can only handle 2-3 per week, that works too.
We'll be asking you to write 1-2 "trial" articles first (we'll pay you your rate, of course). This includes 1-2 rounds of in-depth critiques (we have 11+ years experience in DR copywriting, so you can expect a lot of advice from us to help improve your work during the initial stages, which will help you across all of your clients).
If we think you'll do well, then we'll give you the all the work you can handle for as long as you can handle it.
All payments will happen through Paypal. You decide if you want to be paid weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Overall, we're a laid back bunch. So if you need extra time to finish a batch or you need specific feedback, just ask. The more upfront and direct you are with us, the better our relationship will be.
