Hostfully is a complete, end-to-end property management platform that helps vacation rental property managers increase bookings and boost revenues. We also offer property managers a digital guidebook creation platform that provides guests a truly local experience.
Our blog’s goal
We offer vacation rental property managers and hosts actionable advice on how to increase their investment’s revenue and provide a great guest experience. Our blog also includes thought leadership articles that look at trends in the vacation rental industry.
With your help, we aim to make the Hostfully blog the ultimate vacation rental management resource.
The job
As a freelance writer, you’ll be asked to write roughly 5,000 words a month. Most articles aim to be 1,200 words, but every so often, you might have to write an “epic” 2,000+ word one. The articles you write will answer questions vacation rental hosts type in Google.
Before you write the article, I’ll send you an article brief that will include the general topic, the targeted keyword, the minimum H2/section titles, and a few existing articles from competitors that your own work will need to surpass. In the majority of articles, you’ll also need to plug the Hostfully property management platform (PMP) product or the digital guidebook feature.
For all the articles you write, your input and opinion will be valued. For example, if you feel an infographic would work well in one area - let us know! Similarly, if you think a quote from an expert would support a paragraph you just wrote, we’d love to see that included.
The ideal candidate
You should demonstrate some knowledge of the vacation rental industry in your application. However, being a host or working in the industry isn’t mandatory. Rather, we’re looking for a good fit. That means you need to:
- Be open to feedback
- Be willing to learn new things
- Be flexible and able to handle more work (once in a while)
- Be able to deliver on time
In your application, you should also demonstrate your knowledge of SEO and any past successes you demonstrated in this field. If you know little or nothing of SEO, that’s ok too, we’ll show you the ropes. But indicate it in your application.
Compensation
In your application, please clearly indicate your rate for one 1,000-1,200 word article. Most months you’ll be asked to write at least four of them.
