Monsters and Critics is hiring! If you're a budding or experienced writer and love the world of TV, come and join us!

We are looking for news writers to cover one or more of the following: 90 Day Fiance, The Bachelor franchise, Married at First Sight, and the Hallmark Channel.

Monsters and Critics (https://www.monstersandcritics.com) is one of America's leading entertainment websites.

All roles are work-from-home (or anywhere!) with flexible hours. You must be able to commit to writing at least 10 stories a week  (roughly 10 hours), although more is preferred.

90 DAY FIANCE WRITER

— You will extensively cover 90 Day Fiance on TLC and all its spin-offs. You will work under our Reality TV Editor, writing news articles based on what happens on the shows, as well as what the cast are getting up to off-camera, for example on their social media.

You will need to use your journalistic skills to find your own ideas for stories, although some headline ideas will also be provided.

To apply for this role, you must be a self-starter and a die-hard 90 Day Fiance fan. You need to know the franchise (including all the spin-offs) inside out. You should be up-to-date on all the shows (and have watched all previous seasons), follow the cast members on social media, and know what fans are talking about in all the groups on Facebook.

You will need to contribute at least 10 stories (roughly 10 hours) a week, and help promote your articles on social media. You must be able to commit to writing on the nights when new episodes air, and to contribute other stories regularly throughout the week.

MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT WRITER

— You will extensively cover the U.S. version of Married at First Sight (on Lifetime). You will work under our Reality TV Editor, writing news articles based on what happens on the show, as well as what current and former couples are up to off camera, for example on their social media.

You will need to use your journalistic skills to find your own ideas for stories, although some headline ideas will also be provided.

To apply for this role, you must be a self-starter and a die-hard Married at First Sight fan. You need to know the show inside out. You should be up-to-date on the latest episodes (and have watched all previous seasons), follow current and former cast members on social media, and know what fans are talking about in all the groups on Facebook.

You will work under our Reality TV Editor, writing news articles based on what happens on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, as well as what current and former Bachelor stars are getting up to off-camera, for example on their social media.

You will need to use your journalistic skills to find your own ideas for stories, although some headline ideas will also be provided.

To apply for this role,  you must be a self-starter and a die-hard Bachelor franchise fan. You need to know the shows inside out. You should be up-to-date on all the them, follow the stars on social media, and know what fans are talking about in all the Bachelor groups on Facebook.

You will need to contribute at least 10 stories (roughly 10 hours) a week, and help promote your articles on social media. You must be able to commit to writing on the nights when new episodes air, and to contribute other stories regularly throughout the week.

HALLMARK WRITER

You will extensively cover everything Hallmark, writing news and features about the shows and movies on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, such as Chesapeake Shores and When Calls the Heart.

You will need to use your journalistic skills to find your own ideas for stories, with a focus on news, previews and features about the latest movies and episodes.

To apply for this role, you must be a self-starter and a die-hard Hallmark fan and know the channels inside out. You should be up-to-date on all the shows, follow the main Hallmark stars on social media, and know what fans are talking about in all the Hallmark groups on Facebook.

You will need to contribute at least 10 stories (roughly 10 hours) a week, and help promote your articles on social media. You must be able to commit to writing on the nights when new episodes of the main shows air, and to contribute other stories regularly throughout the week.

GENERAL INFO

  • Articles are paid on a per-story basis.
  • There are opportunities to earn various bonuses on top of that flat fee.
  • You must be able to commit to writing at least 10 stories a week (roughly 10 hours), although more is preferable.
  • Excellent grammar and punctuation are a must.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of WordPress is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic photo editing skills (resizing, cropping, adjusting exposure etc) is preferred.
  • Prior news writing experience is a big bonus.
  • The ability to work at speed is a big bonus.
