Description

Looking for a writer who can create original software reviews and comparisons for products relevant to creators and sellers of educational products. The types of software to be covered may include (though not be limited to):

  • online course platforms,
  • course creation software
  • video and audio editing tools
  • membership site software
  • community/discussion platforms
  • marketing tools
  • software that complements/enhances any of the above

The reviews/comparisons would need to focus on capabilities and features highly relevant to this audience and be written in a detailed, but easy to understand way for a relatively non-technical audience.

Secondarily, we would prefer a writer also capable of writing “how tos” on topics relevant to our audience. Audience members need guidance in topic areas related to how to create engaging, impactful learning experiences, how to market them effectively, how to deliver and manage them, and in general, how to grow a thriving education business.

Audience

The audience for these posts is primarily solo entrepreneurs and very small businesses that create and sell online courses, membership sites, seminars, and events, and other offerings aimed at adult learners/customers.

Length/Volume of Work

While it will depend on the specific review or “how-to” to be written, our expectation is that posts will be a minimum of 1200 words, and longer ones may be as long as 4-5000 words.

Our aim is to publish at least two articles per week in 2021. Some of these will be written by other writers, but a successful candidate for this position could expect to have continuing work throughout the year and possibly beyond.

Preferred Experience

While the person who writes the reviews does not necessarily need to be an expert in education or educational software, we will definitely give preference to candidates who have experience in these areas.

Additionally, while a successful candidate does not need to be an expert in search engine optimization (SEO), preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate an understanding of SEO and an ability to write posts that take into account fundamental SEO practices.

Applying

When applying, please provide links to at least three examples of work similar to what is described here.

Additionally, please indicate your standard rates and whether you require a byline.
