Description
We are Arc (https://arc.dev), a platform connecting software developers and engineers anywhere in the world with great remote job opportunities. We're seeking a writer with specific knowledge and expertise on remote careers for software developers.
Who: Subject matter expert (SME) or thought leader in software development careers (particularly remote work) capable of long-form writing (~1,500-2,500-word articles) on various career- and tech-related topics.
Writing Guidelines: US English, knowledgeable and approachable personality, professional but friendly tone.
Target Audience: While we sometimes gear our content to engineering managers and technical leads, about 90% of our content targets remote software developers, particularly those looking to level up their careers.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of software development careers (having worked your way up in the career path, you've been an IT recruiter, you've managed an engineering team, etc.).
- Previous samples of writing in software development or on the careers of software developers.
- Ability to take a content brief on a complex topic and turn it into an easy, clear, and accessible article.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with basic search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing practices.
- First-hand expertise in several popular coding languages.
- You are a budding or current thought leader on LinkedIn and Twitter and willing to share your content on social after publication.
Output: To start, we'll work on an article-by-article basis, about 1 article per week or so. If we're both satisfied with the work process, we could make it a regular thing with 1-2 articles per week requested.
What to Do Next: If you think you'd be a great fit, we'd love to hear from you! Send us your LinkedIn profile, a few links to previous articles you've written (on careers, software development, or similar), and let us know your rate per 1,000 words. We're looking forward to your reply!
