Hello there,
We're an online chess shop thats looking for new writers and a blog manager as well. The content we are looking for is anything that we can rank for on google that would pique the interest of people looking to buy physical chess products. We'll also be writing articles that a parent would be searching on google interested in getting their kids into chess as this is part of our market.
********** Requirements *******
- At least 2+ years experience blog writing with previous samples
- Native English Speaker preferred (Non native speaker with Advanced Written English may be considered)
- Intermediate knowledge of on page SEO such as understanding the importance of keyphrases, using proper file names for images, understanding how to properly use Rankmath, Yoast or similar, best practices with internal linking, best use of headers, and general strategies on how to write for google is required.
- Comfortable around Magento's blog interface (If you used wordpress you'll be fine
Although we may occasionally write articles about the chess game itself like chess openings, technical chess writing etc this is not going to be a major focus and being an excellent chess player is NOT required (though it does help and knowing at least the basics of chess helps, and previous work in the chess industry helps as well.
***********Optional Requirements*********
- Club level chess player (1400+ on FIDE or chess.com). As I said we are not writing mainly about advanced technical topics but some passion for the game helps
- Knowledge of how to write sales copy such as clickbaity headlines, getting people to click etc.
- (If you're up for it, we may promote you and ask you to write content for our e-mail list, which of course requires basic knowledge of knowing how to write content that gets people to take action and convert. If blog writing works out we may also ask you to write and improve descriptions of products in our shop.)
- Previous work of any sort in the chess industry. Not necessary but certainly helps.
- Previous work for any sort in the eCommerce field.
