Description
We need someone with serious writing chops—one or two killer freelance writers who are ready to be part of a small but mighty team.
Our site covers everything and anything, just so long as it’s interesting. You might write about space movies one week, punk albums the next day, and men’s workout shirts the week after that. Style roundups, non-fiction books, creepy hotels, and how to make the perfect Negroni all fall within our purview.
You should be able to write about these topics with humor, insight, and a creative style that doesn’t sound like it came out of a content mill. If you can sneak in a random Die Hard or Stranger Things reference, all the better.
If you think all of the above sounds like something you’re into, please read on for the specifics and how you can apply to this opening.
Specifics
We pay by the word, via PayPal.
We require a work-for-hire freelance contract signature that can be terminated at any time by either party.
Assignments will range from 450 to 3,000 words.
You’ll generally receive one to two assignments per week, sometimes more, sometimes less.
We use Clickup for assignments and Slack for questions and other communication
Some topics will include a list of items or other information to include, other assignments will be more open-ended with you performing all necessary research to write the article
REQUIREMENTS:
A clear voice with an engaging writing style
Error-free, edited copy, that’s accurate and fact-checked
Willingness to communicate via Slack and receive assignments via Clickup
Ability to turn work around in a reasonable amount of time (generally a day or two for short articles, a few days for longer articles)
Willingness to research the topic at hand to create a knowledgeable, informed article
HOW TO APPLY:
We will use a Google Form to collect information. (link below) The most critical part of the application process will be to include THREE writing samples that you think best demonstrate your writing style and voice. The writing samples MUST be in the form of LINKS (even if the link is to a shared Google Doc of your writing). We’d prefer you don’t just link to your portfolio. Instead, link to the three BEST examples of your writing from your portfolio. Live links on existing sites are even better. This part is important. Your examples are how we will determine whether you’re a fit for our site.

After we narrow the field to a set of qualified applicants, we will offer a PAID trial article to find the best candidate to join our team of freelancers.
Thanks for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you.
