WANTED: An outstanding writer who will bring both the lightness of wit and a depth of content and detail to our blog.
We focus on helping everyday people buy and manage rental properties, to help them build passive income. Our focus is real estate investing and property management, with a dose of personal finance.
Real estate experience a strong plus, but not 100% necessary.
We’re big on transparency, so here’s the good and the bad about this position:
- It’s regular – 1 article/week to start, with the possibility of higher volume down the line and expanded responsibilities.
- You don’t need to brainstorm and pitch article topics (although you can). We’ll provide topics for you.
- We provide a detailed content brief for each article, including points to cover, and a handful of SEO keywords to target.
- You get full author credit and a link back to your (preferably relevant) blog, if you have one.
The Bad: We don’t pay enormous sums (for now, anyway – we’re a startup). We pay $50 for articles in the 1,500-2,500 word range, and $60 for articles over 2,500 words.
We take our content VERY seriously. I myself write freelance as well, and only want to publish excellent, unique, useful content on our site.
See below for the application instructions and our hiring process.
We’re excited to see what you’ve got, and to work together long-term!
If we like what we see, we’ll give you a test assignment. If it’s good enough to publish, we’ll pay you for it whether we hire you or not. If it doesn’t meet our standards, we’ll send you the “We regret to inform you…” email.
