WANTED: An outstanding writer who will bring both a lightness of wit and a depth of content and detail to our blog.
Our goal is to help everyday people create passive income from rental properties. We write articles about:
- Real estate investing
- Property management
- Financial independence and retiring early (FIRE)
- Case studies, tactics, how-tos, and more
Real estate experience a strong plus, but not 100% necessary. Passion for personal finance, investing, passive income, financial independence: necessary.
We’re big on transparency, so here’s the deal:
- It’s regular – biweekly to start, with the intention of growth.
- You don’t need to brainstorm and pitch article topics (although you can). We’ll provide topics for you.
- We provide a detailed content brief, including points to cover, and a handful of SEO keywords to target.
- You get full author credit and a link back to your personal blog (if you have one).
- We only consider native English speakers from the US, Canada, or the UK. Don’t apply if you aren’t a top-notch native English writer.
Compensation: We pay $80 for articles in the 1,500-2,000 word range, and $115 for articles over 2,000 words.
We take our content VERY seriously. I myself am a freelance writer, and only want to publish excellent, unique, useful content on our site.
The Hiring Process: Submit three writing samples (URLs to published pieces are ideal, but you can send Word files if you must). Also tell us why you’re interested in this position and why you’re a good fit.
If we like what we see, we’ll give you a test assignment. If it’s good enough to publish, we’ll pay you for it whether we hire you or not. If it doesn’t meet our standards, we’ll send you the “We regret to inform you…” email.
