My name is Philip and I am a managing member at Stngrusa.com. Our company sells affordable USA made firearm accessories - namely for the AR platform in addition to outdoor gear.
We are looking for a long term writer to help grow our company blog.
The purpose of the blog is to help educate the reader on various topics covering the AR platform. You must have a deep knowledge of the firearm industry and be able to convey concepts to readers in an understandable way.
Some of the topics we are looking to cover:
- Simple Gunsmithing - "How to guides" covering installations Ex. How to assemble your upper, how to assemble your lower, how to install your handguard, how to field strip and clean your rifle, etc...
- Industry knowledge - What is the difference between a mil spec and commercial buffer tube, what barrel length is best, what is the difference between a muzzle brake and a flash hider, etc...
While not needed for this job, it definitely helps to have knowledge on various tips and tricks. For example:
- The proper shooting stance.
- How to shoot on the move.
- How to increase the speed of your reload
- Tips to improve accuracy etc...
We will need you to write about 1-2 articles per week, with each ranging between 1,000 and 2,000 words.
What We Need
Providing our readers with value through interesting and educational articles is our number one goal. We want our writers to be able to convey technical topics in a concise, teachable and easy to read way.
Most of your articles will involve researching a topic, taking illustrative pictures of the what is being taught/shown, and then writing a piece that walks the reader step by step through what is needed to be done in order achieve the same result. For most articles taking pictures will be required.
Our goal is to keep you around for the long term and we will help you succeed by providing clear instructions and topics for what needs to be covered. Our vision is to create numerous mini series with articles starting as beginner "how to" guides and then transitioning into more advanced tips and tricks.
What We Are Looking For
As a summary of everything that was talked about, we expect writers to have all the following qualities:
- Knowledge of the firearm industry with a specific focus on the AR platform
- Previous experience as a writer
- Native English speaker
- Ability to take decent pictures (It doesn't need to be professional. A phone camera is sufficient)
- Up to date knowledge on SEO and ranking blog posts highly in search engines
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality content
What We Are Not Looking For
- Boring bland content
- Complicated articles that are hard to follow
