We are a startup looking for an experienced content writer to join our editorial team and enrich our publication with new short-form and long-form content. You can view it at pub.storypro.io
The primary objective for this role is to edit and create unique, high-quality content that engages our readers.
If you’re familiar with producing online content and have an eye for detail, we’d like to meet you. Feel free to share samples of your work or portfolio of your published articles, along with your application. Ultimately, you’ll deliver quality writing pieces that appeal to our audience, attract customers, and boost brand awareness. We can offer $500/month initially as we scale our publication and launch the sale of our product.
What you'll do
- Develop a content strategy and prioritize content topics
- Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone)
- Proofread and edit content before publication
- Write short-form and long-form articles.
- Manage an editorial calendar
- Select images for content.
- Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles.
- Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews, and studies)
- Write core website copy and publication content.
- Prepare well-structured drafts using our Content Management System.
- Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
- Update website content as needed
- Interview industry professionals and incorporate their views in articles
What we are looking for
- Experience in copywriting, social media marketing, and multimedia content creation.
- A sense of humor
- Strong writing and proofreading skills.
- Understand best practices including SEO, Format & layout, graphics, hyperlinks.
- Experience with MS Office, InDesign, or other publishing tools.
- Familiarity with SEO and social media platforms.
- Experience doing research using multiple references.
- Familiarity with web publications
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, Contentful)
- Ability to meet deadlines
