Description

Hello reader! I mean, writer. (Damn, I’m good at this job-posting business!..) Andrii here, from Satori Webmaster Academy – a source of free in-depth guides for website owners, online entrepreneurs, and power users.

The main niches we cover on a regular basis include website creation (domains, hosting, site builders, CMS, design), digital marketing (content, SEO, SEM, social, email), cybersecurity (VPNs, passwords, antiviruses, etc), as well as online learning and personal productivity.

Satori was built from scratch by yours truly; it’s been in the black since year one (2012, in this case) - and I’ve been the sole owner of the business since inception. Not planning to sell it, just planning to keep making it even bigger and better.

This is where I need your help: if you are one of those rare individuals who can be meticulous yet entertaining, detailed yet clear, and insightful without being boring – please read on!

Why Apply?

This is the part where I describe the perks while sending inconspicuous signals that we’re a serious project –

  • The money: >$0.10/word. Our typical article length is 1500-2500 words, but some guides can get much heftier after a couple of “skyscraper” iterations.
  • The flexibility: the project’s core work philosophy is “quality over speed or quantity”, so there are no tight deadlines or expectations of dozens of spun posts per week (2-4 well-researched articles per month instead). No physical location requirements, either.
  • The autonomy: there are certain expectations regarding structure, content, and style, but within reason each piece is up to your creative vision, topic research, and execution.
  • The growth: yes, those things about becoming a better writer and learning even more about the niche. On a more serious note, though, some of my insights over the last 10 years of building profitable (and unprofitable) online projects might even turn out to be interesting learning points – and I hope to be challenged and learn from you as well, naturally.
  • Oh, the humanity: as in, “human touch”. We are a small team with flat structure (and awkward puns), so communication is mostly directly with me and the project manager who will be publishing the content. No hierarchies, no formal reporting, no corporate BS.

Things to Note:

  • There will be a test article, and we will pay for it without any mark-downs.
  • Transactions with a legal entity are preferred, but personal employment is also an option.
  • I will not reply to applications which do not contain the information requested below, sorry.

How to Apply:

No need for CVs or cover letters – instead, I will appreciate answers to the following three questions:

  1. Which existing published content do you consider your best work so far? Please provide 3-5 links; a big plus if some or all of them are relevant to things we cover on satoristudio.net.
  2. Do you have first-hand experience in creating/managing/promoting websites, running digital businesses, or any other areas mentioned earlier? If yes, please share some details (but keep it 5 sentences max).
  3. What do you think could be improved on satoristudio.net/blog? Please pick a couple of articles and share your honest opinion - constructive criticism is what I’m after.

Thank you for taking the time reading all the way down to here! Talk to you soon, hopefully!
