Description
We are looking for musicians deeply interested in how music gear works, but also knowledgeable in music theory, gigging, recording at home, and being in a band.
Topics range from beginner guides to advanced tips and tricks for technical concepts.
Some of the types of articles you will be writing will look like this:
- Informational (How to X? Can X do Y? Are X good for Y? Will X do Y?)
- Brand overviews (Is X worth it?)
- Buying guides (What to look for in X?)
- Product reviews (PRS SE Silver Sky review)
- Roundups (10 best X for Y)
Most of the writing will be informational and not old-fashioned keyword-stuffed SEO-oriented content.
We write natural, conversational entertaining, and fun text for real people.
We will do 800 to 1200 word pieces at first, but we will need some central 5000+ word articles later.
A content brief with the formatting and editorial preferences will be provided for the articles.
Also, every article requested will be outlined and prefilled with pointers and ideas for each subheading.
This is a freelance ghostwriting gig, but we look for long-term relationships. There's a lot of content to be written.
At the moment we intend on adding 2 to 4 writers to our team, however, we will need more in the future, and it is likely that we will contact you down the line even if you don't make the first cut.
There will be opportunities, in the near future (months), for those writers to work as editors and/or content strategists.
Payment
- Payment is $0.02 per word.
- $20 for the average 1000 word information article.
- All payments will be processed through PayPal, at least for the first months.
- Articles will be paid within 48 hours of acceptance.
- Per-word rates are likely to increase as the business grows, based on produced article quality.
Work demand
- Remote position
- Communication will be conducted via email (no pointless video calls)
- Our budget currently grants 20,000 words monthly, to be divided between the 2 to 4 new writers
- So, 1,000 to 2,500 words per week for each writer.
- The intention is to increase the output to 1000 words per business day (5000 weekly words) for each writer as soon as the revenue allows for it.
- However, if you prefer a higher or lower output, we can sort it out.
Requirements/Nice to have
- Being a musician, producer, or sound engineer.
- We don't require you to be a native English speaker, however, we will only accept writers that can write with no errors and use native idioms.
- A few pieces of work to show us, no matter the niche or topic.
- Photos of your gear or videos playing (not mandatory).
- Great research skills.
- Ability to produce guitar tabs, chord diagrams, music sheets, etc.
- Able to deliver the work in google doc format.
