Description
The goal of the Chegg Writing Tools Team is to provide students with effective writing solutions to better their academic careers. Currently composed of 4 of the largest student citation and research management services in the world, our tools reach over 30 million students from all over the world. We are looking to expand our capabilities to address other aspects of the student writing process, including grammar checking.
The Grammar Specialist will serve a critical role to ensure that our nascent grammar checking features continually improve to become best of breed.
Responsibilities include and will not be limited to:
- Continually, thoroughly and objectively assessing our grammar rules
- Updating XML-based grammar rules based on user feedback, competitive analysis, and community updates
- Being the resident grammar guru, fielding internal and external questions around issues related to grammar
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of major grammar concepts and pitfalls and how to break them down into specific, actionable rules
- Excellent project management skills, comfortable with setting schedules and managing deadlines
- Strong communication skills, effectively communicating with team members and internal stakeholders
- Comfort with technology, including XML, reading technical specifications, and working with developers
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams, business leaders, and designers
- Familiarity with other grammar checking tools
