WebGeekStuff is a new site covering all the great geeky stuff you can do in front of a screen. We’re looking for talented writers with a unique voice and a burning passion for their hobby in the following areas:
Gaming writer
You don’t just want to skim readers through the best games released this year, you want to deep-dive the best moments in the best games released this year, or point them to the best free games they can play on itch.io.
TV & Twitch writer
You scour Netflix for the horror movies that people haven’t seen, can point people to some Twitch streamers, and have opinions on everything from the best B-movies on Amazon to Jake Paul’s boxing career.
Discovery writer
Hours of online trawling has taken you down some serious rabbit holes. You’ve stumbled upon the earliest sites on the internet, can direct readers to interesting Discord communities and subreddits, and can write a list of all the secrets in Google’s Doodle Champion Island Games.
Shopping writer
From fidget spinners to gift ideas for geeks, you not only know where to shop online but how to shop online. Price-tracking sites, cashback, coupons - all of this will be your domain as the writer for our shopping section.
In addition:
Writers must be:
- Proficient in the English language.
- Proficient in WordPress and able to generate your own article ideas.
- Come up with at least 2 articles (of minimum 500 words) each week.
- Provide detail and accurate information.
- Follow editorial guidelines.
- Prepared to make edits as needed and be able to meet publication deadlines.
- Communicate well and reply to comments promptly.
- Applicant must have prior blogging experience.
