Description
GameRant.com is looking for great, and prolific, writers for afternoons (after 12 noon Pacific Standard Time / 3PM Eastern Standard Time). Weekends a plus.
Our video game writers are both players and discerning fans of all genres of video games. We are looking for writers who can produce in the range of 30 (or more) news articles per month about the latest game news. Please do NOT apply if you think you can only contribute 15 or less posts per month. If you apply saying 30/month is no problem and end up not living up to anything near that, you will not be around long.
Please do not apply if you are a generic "SEO writer."
Topics will include:
- New game announcements
- New video game features and content
- Game Strategy Guides
- Game Studio news (closures, departures, hirings)
- Screenshots
- New game trailers
Knowledge of online post promotion is a plus. Knowledge of WordPress and basic image editing is a plus. This is a paid position. You won't get full time income from this but it's good part time pay doing something you love with hundreds of thousands of people reading what you have to say every month.
We pay per post and for writers who hit the 30 post target we have a bonus $$ pool based on how much traffic your posts generate. Some writers earn as much in bonus pay as they do in post pay. We have a great bunch of writers and are looking to add some more excellent writers to our tight-knit crew.
If you submit writing samples with spelling and/or grammatical errors you won't hear back from us. We are looking for writers who are prolific, talented, professional in their approach to writing and detail oriented. Posts will range from 400 words and on up.
Please surf around GameRant.com to get a feel for how we cover news, and send two writing samples related to a recent topic as you think it would appear on the site. We cover the news with an editorial slant and a magazine writing style.
Also if you have links to your online writing experience, send us 2 or 3 links.
In addition please include the game genres or franchises you are most familiar with or prefer.
