Description
Groove is looking for an experienced content creator to join our small but fast-growing team as a full-time blog writer and editor.
What you’ll be doing:
- Researching and writing high-quality, well-optimized posts for the Groove blog, about topics such as customer support, email management, and small business
- Editing posts created by other writers, to ensure they’re as relevant, accurate, and high quality as possible
- Updating older posts on the blog to improve them and bring them in line with our current content strategy
- Completing occasional content-related tasks, such as researching new keywords
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience: Our ideal candidate will have at least two years’ prior experience both writing and editing SEO-driven content, ideally blog posts. In addition, priority will be given to candidates with at least some previous experience working full-time and remotely on a team of writers/editors (as opposed to freelance-only experience).
- Skills: We’re looking for excellent writing and editing abilities, strong research and organizational skills, clear and prompt communication, and tech savvy.
- Knowledge: Understanding of basic SEO techniques is a must. Knowledge of how to write and format blog posts in WordPress is a plus.
- We’re also looking for someone who:
- Is self-motivated – you’re comfortable working independently and managing a schedule of deadlines proactively.
- Pays close attention to detail, and is willing to take in constructive feedback and adjust accordingly.
- Can produce high-quality content consistently and at a quick pace.
- Is experienced in and comfortable with remote (primarily written) communication on a widely-distributed team.
- Last but not least – if you also have experience working in online customer service/support, we definitely want to hear from you!
What you should know about the position:
- The salary range for this position is $35,000 to $40,000 per year, based on experience.
- This is a full-time position for a US-based company.
- If you’re in the US, this will be an employee role. Non-US applicants will be considered contractors (although the position is otherwise identical).
- You will not be required to work set hours, although you will be expected to remain in constant communication with the rest of the content team.
- We offer a flexible time off policy – as long as you’re getting your work done and not putting undue burden on the rest of the content team, you’re not restricted to a set number of days off.
- The first three months will be a probationary training period, where you’ll get the opportunity to learn about Groove, demonstrate your skills, and see if the role is a good fit for the long term.
Interested? Submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample (ideally published online under your own name). We look forward to hearing from you!
