Description

Hi, I’m Russ, the founder of PropertyWorkshop.com.

I’ve been obsessed with UK property for over fifteen years.

Most recently, I completely renovated a small buy-to-let flat in Cardiff that was stuck in the early 80s!

This renovation experience has inspired me to share my knowledge with others.

Are you also obsessed with DIY? Do you spend more time in B&Q and Wickes than in your own home? Do you get excited about using the latest power tool you just bought?

If you answer ‘YES!’ to all of the above AND you also love writing/blogging, please read on...

Our Goals
PropertyWorkshop.com (PWS) is a UK-based DIY blog that creates how-to guides, tool reviews and cost estimates for various home improvement projects.

We also blog about energy-efficient homes and property investment.

Our goal is to provide readers with all the information, skills, and confidence they need to transform their homes on a budget.

We achieve this goal by publishing informative and engaging content that is easy to follow.

Who We’re Looking For
PWS is building a team of DIY fanatics!

More precisely, we’re looking for native English writers, ideally from the UK, who have DIY experience.

What We’re Looking For
Initially, we’ll require one or two 1,000-3,000-word articles per week, but this will ramp up significantly as the site grows.

Most posts will be in-depth and original how-tos, product reviews and cost guides. All articles must be informative and engaging.

Also, there are optional opportunities for writing guest posts for other blogs (either in your name or ghostwriting) and responding to HARO queries daily.

We also expect our writers to promote articles they’ve written on their social media profiles/blogs.

What You Can Expect From Me
Once you’re part of the PWS team, we’ll provide you with all our training materials, including a video training course.

You’ll be assigned topics by myself and given a submission deadline.

There will likely be a lot of feedback and editing required in the first couple of weeks, but this part should be minimal once you get into the swing of things.

Please note that we only require our writers to write the content. No web formatting or design is needed.

Editorial Standards
It’s important to note that we have very high editorial standards compared to most other blogs in our niche.

Every post we publish goes through our strict editorial process, where we check all claims and ideas for accuracy.

Our readers need to trust us, so we must produce high-quality content.

Budget
Our budget is around $50-150 per week for 1x 1,000-3,000-word articles.

So please bid based on delivering 1 x 1,000-3,000-word articles. Apologies for the wide range, but articles vary in size.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of writing experience.
  • Must provide examples of DIY related articles.
  • Must be comfortable using Google Docs, Google Drive,
  • Trello (editorial process) and Grammarly. Note: All tools are simple to use, and we provide plenty of training.
  • Must be okay with sourcing images from sources such as Depositphotos and Canva images (we have paid accounts with both).

Benefits

  • Competitive freelance rates.
  • Consistent workload.
  • Flexible deadlines.
  • Opportunity to advance within a high-performing team.
  • Option to grow name recognition by writing on other high-quality blogs (Guest Posts and HARO)
  • Gain valuable DIY knowledge.

How to Apply

Best Regards,

Russ

P.S. As PWS is a fast-growing and ambitious site, there’s potential to move into an editor/managerial role as the site grows and we hire more writers
