Description

Hi,

My name is Nathan Hughes, and I’m the founder of artignition.com

I am super passionate about helping people to improve their art and creative success. I think that by giving people real, actionable advice I can help artists improve their skill set, and live happier, more fulfilled lives.

I am looking for a writer to write high-quality articles, which will include in-depth product reviews (such as drawing tablets, and online courses) and valuable how-to guides for artists. Native English speakers only, please.

For each article, you will be given an outline consisting of the specific goal of the article, and specific topics we would like covered in the article. You will be expected to do your own research and expand on the topics covered. It is really important that each article contains no “fluff,” is simple to understand, specific and actionable.

That being said, I’m looking for someone willing to have a lot of fun with their writing. Your writing style should be that of a friendly expert. The reader must feel like they are talking to a real person who is passionate about the subject, knowledgeable and with a spark of humor.

Most articles will average around 1000-1500 words, possibly longer for detailed guides. You will be expended to do revisions where necessary.

As your primary point of contact, I will make sure I am available to answer any questions, give feedback and further explain what is required if need be.

If you are a good fit, this role will be on an ongoing paid basis.

To be considered for this role, please do the following:

Firstly, answer this question: "You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?" One sentence will do. Please put this at the top of your application. This is to check that you read through the ad, and just aren't copy-pasting a templated response ;) Bonus points if you make me laugh out loud.

When applying please link to 3 of your best articles you have written within the art niche (e.g. drawing, digital painting, digital tablet reviews, etc.). These articles should show off your understanding of the niche and your style of writing.

Lastly, please specify your expected rate of pay (price per word - USD).

Also, feel free to share a link to your website or Instagram where you show off any artworks you have created. This is not mandatory so don’t worry if you don’t have one. However, if you do, please include a link.

Thanks and good luck!

Nathan
