Description

Are you a fantasy football fan with writing chops?  Do you take pride in your work and pay attention to the small details?  If you answered 'yes', then I want you to write for us.

I'm Brad, the founder of Cheat Sheet War Room.  Cheat Sheet War Room is popular for our cheat sheet creation tool, but we also publish loads of valuable, engaging content.

This position is for a ghostwriter.

Our Mission

Our goal is to provide practical tips, actionable advice, and fantasy tools to fantasy sports enthusiasts.

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for an established writer with some experience in fantasy sports and (preferably) a documented history of published content online.

Attributes of the perfect candidate:

  • Native English speaker
  • Attention to detail (very important!)
  • Experience writing about fantasy sports
  • Experience with daily fantasy sports
  • Familiarity with fantasy sports tools

Having all of these traits isn’t necessary to apply, but the more the better.

This is not a position for writing about fantasy sports news (player news, player rankings, etc).  However, it could evolve into that as we expand our content.

If you’re an excellent writer who enjoys fantasy sports, but you haven’t written explicitly about fantasy sports, please apply as most topics can be learned quite quickly.  I'm more interested in stellar writers than subject matter experts.

Much of the initial work will be writing reviews and round-up articles where you research a fantasy-related product and detail the pros, cons, benefits, etc of the product.

After the first 30-40 articles, the writing will shift to a mix of both product-centric reviews and informational articles related to fantasy sports and general sports topics.

Scope of Work

We will begin with an average of 2000 to 3000 words per week.  This word count will be spread between 1-2 articles, depending on the topic.

The opportunity exists to grow far beyond this if you can deliver consistent, quality work. Each blog post will be between 800 and 2000 words.

Editorial Process

You'll be assigned topics by myself or an editor and given a submission deadline.  Along with your topic and outline, you’ll be provided with editorial standards and additional guidance on the direction or theme of the piece.

Please note that we have very high editorial standards compared to most other blogs.  No errors, typos, grammatical mistakes, etc.

For each article (especially early-on) there will be a few rounds of feedback and editing required.  But once a writer gets into the swing of things, that part should be minimal.

Writers only have to write content- no web formatting or design is required.

Here are a couple of examples of the type of content you’ll be writing.

To be considered, you must apply via the Google Form specified below.

Applying

If you are interested, please complete our application form.

I am willing to hire multiple writers.  Based on the number of qualified applicants, I may assign a paid, test article before making a final selection.

Thanks and good luck!
