Are you somebody who is passionate about African hair products like wigs and weaves? Do you find yourself spending hours on YouTube trying to learn the ins and outs of various hair terms and DIY how-to’s - such as dyeing your wigs at home and wearing your weaves on your own? Or are you someone whose friends always go for the latest African hairstyle trends?
If any of the above sounds like you, then we’d love to talk to you! We’re looking for ONE experienced writer who is fiercely passionate about all things related to African hair and beauty (similar salon experience will be advantageous) to be part of our content team.
You will be writing product roundups, review type of articles as well as informational articles - ranging from 800 words to 1500/2500 words per article (or even more). There will be content templates and editorial guidelines provided to ensure readers get the most out of their time. Hence, you must be able to work with mildly rigid yet reader-friendly structure.
We are NOT looking for generic, SEO-optimised articles. You must possess a degree of technical understanding of African hair and wigs, derived from accumulated personal/salon experience, or through cosmetology training.
All articles should be well-researched, cited and written in a manner that resonates with the target audience, which means a light and conversational tone.
Prefer a committed writer who will be featured as the author of the site (not ghostwriters) - and seek to work on a long term basis.
Rate expectation: USD $0.06 - USD $0.10 per word (or higher) depending on subject matter expertise. Writers who lack writing experience are welcomed to apply (if you possess strong niche expertise).
Expecting 5000 - 10,000 words weekly (dependent on your capacity). We have 300 over article topics in the content pipeline, so please put that into consideration for the rate.
