We are looking to hire someone for a few hours a week to provide an editorial management type service for our blog about WordPress on aThemes (athemes.com/blog).
We write about a range of topics related to WordPress including themes, plugins, reviews and tutorials.
We are looking for someone who can manage the process of getting content published. So from content ideas (which I can help with), to assigning content to a writer in our team, to commissioning featured images from our designer to hitting publish.
You will not have to do any writing yourself.
You will also be responsible for editing everyone's work and signing it off before publication. The writers we work with are all very good at what they do so not much in the way of editing is usually required. It's more things like spelling mistakes, being aware of potential SEO issues (like unnatural looking keyword usage from an SEO perspective), picking up on any points you feel the writer needs to clarify etc. So what I would call pretty light editing.
You should be at the very least familiar with WordPress and hopefully you will have experience writing/editing about WordPress yourself.
A role like this requires someone with good organisation skills who can populate a content calendar weeks and even months in advance.
You will work closely with me as the blog is something I like working on and I still want to be involved.
We publish around 2-3 posts a week on average. I estimate this role to take a few hours per week. Let's call it five. But I won't know for sure until we actually try it out. Over time there is the potential for more work if you also take over content updating responsibilities too (a lot of our posts need regular updating).
