Heacockmedia is seeking a lead editor to manage our How to Home site. Howtohome.com consists of product reviews, guides, and how-tos in the home goods industry.

The goal is to help manage the site and ensure high quality and engaging content is created.

Responsibilities:

• Project manage articles, updates, and supplementary content
• Manage the writing team; Hiring, assign articles, answer questions, provide feedback on writing, ensure deadlines are met.
• Create and manage editorial calendar; Identify topics and new article ideas, ensure content is ready on time
• Edit and approve content. Ensure the content matches the right style and is highly useful and relevant for our readers.
• Coordinate photos and other assets for content.

Requirements:

• Must have experience in the field and worked in a similar position.
• Excellent editing skills.
• Ability to write highly engaging content and headlines.
• Resourceful, with excellent research abilities.
• Good understanding of SEO and web analytics data
• Familiar with the legal issues that affect online content publishing i.e. copyright, plagiarism, attribution.
