Decoist.com is a highly inspirational magazine for people interested in architecture and interior design. Our site has grown and we're now seeking home and garden experts who're willing to be part of our growing team so that they exhibit their expertise and help our audience with their projects or to satisfy their curiosity.
We're looking for experts with a very good voice so that they expand our DIY and How-to sections of the site (informative and instructional articles), as well as come up with features articles (like collections of furniture/houses/diy projects, top 15s, etc etc)
In order to be considered on the Decoist team, you should know that we're looking for the following:
-- Some experience in home topics like home design and décor, construction, restoration, renovation, home organization, as well as experience in writing about them
-- A degree or certification in any home area (would be a plus)
-- A college degree in journalism, English or communications (also a plus)
Your articles need to be informative (at least 300 words), so we want to know you can write in clear, concise style, for the Decoist community. We're not looking for overly technical stuff, but articles that are fun, articles that everyone can understand -- that's what makes them easily shareable.
Regarding payments, we will pay you bi-weekly or monthly, via Paypal.
The price per article is $5 for normal DIY or how-to tutorials, or $10-$15 if we decide on more thorough articles. But you'll know more about payments when we decide you are what we're looking for.
