Description
We’re looking for a crochet-obsessed content creator that knows what excellent content looks and sounds like.
Your main role will be writing and editing existing content, but you may be asked to occasionally snap high quality photos for how-to articles or other tutorial style content that could use visuals to supplement.
We'd love to eventually do some crochet tutorial videos, but at this point we'd consider that a bonus skill, not a requirement.
So actually being a crocheter at home with access to some of the tools of the trade is a must.
The plan is to hire you for consistent, ongoing work that could be close to flexible, full-time hours.
Pay:
Given the variety of assignments you'll receive, this will be an hourly position. Pay starts at $15/hr and will be paid via Paypal.
We have plenty of work for the right candidate, so expect consistent and near full-time hours to start.
Requirements:
Native speakers of American English
Based in the US, Canada or US expat (Preferred)
Love and knowledge of crochet.
Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks with limited supervision.
A friendly, likable personality that shines through in writing and potentially video content
20+ hours per week of availability (flexible schedule)
Job Details:
This role is primarily going to be focused on writing and editing for our well-established and popular crochet website.
So we're looking for a team member who loves crochet and loves to share their knowledge and excitement about it.
A typical assignment might be that we send you a topic like "How to crochet a flower" and give you some basic guidelines on writing style, formatting, and word count and then you'll be expected to research competitors and create a piece of content that's more helpful than anything currently available.
In terms of editing, you'll also be given assignments where you're asked to re-write and/or update old content on our site that's grown stale and needs to be improved.
Writing Requirements
Writing for us, you will need to follow specific templates that we will provide. This is not SEO-type content. All posts must be well-researched and useful for your reader.
Writers will be provided with training in the required writing formats. We expect you to learn quickly and produce posts which require very little editing.
You don’t have to have tons of experience in writing to apply. New writers who are willing to learn are welcome to apply as well.
