We publish several high profile websites on a variety of topics and we’re looking for freelance editors who can help out with editing and proofreading on a regular basis.
This is an ongoing project since we're regularly publishing new content on our site. It certainly has the potential to be a long-term gig for the right candidate.
Pay & Schedule:
We'd love to have someone who is available at least 20 hours per week. Hours are completely flexible, but we need you to be reliable and consistent.
Pay is $15/hr and will be paid when you invoice me via Paypal on a weekly basis.
Native speakers of American English with a nuanced, understanding of the language.
Our audiences are primarily in the US, so we can prefer to hire US-based freelancers or US expats. However, native speaking applicants from other countries are welcome to apply.
This position will be assisting with editing articles after they've been written by our team of authors.
In order to be our editor, you must enjoy writing and be very good at it. Anyone can write a boring review. We require the write-ups to be engaging, detailed, helpful, personable, and humorous with a touch of snarkiness. All in all, they must entertain as much as they inform.
Our editors have the final say in everything we publish, so in addition to simple proofreading you need to be able to rewrite, cut out fluff, and work your magic in order to make sure every article is publish-ready.
Our target time to edit each article is a maximum of 30 minutes. Because we publish at a high volume, we need editors that can avoid the temptation to over-edit.
How To Apply:
The linked Google form includes both a short editing test and a quick content planning test. We'll follow up with qualified applicants via email.
We look forward to hearing from you!
