Description
We publish several high-profile websites, in various industries that include:
Weddings, Coffee, Pets & Wildlife, Beer Making, and a few others.
We need to hire a creative content editor who is capable of doing a few things really well:
- Proofreading/editing content as it comes in from our various freelance writers.
- Using Frase to reword/tweak content and improve SEO scores without sacrificing readability
- Updating/Refreshing previously published content that is underperforming to make it better.
PROJECT SCOPE
This is an ongoing project since we're regularly publishing new content on our sites. It certainly has the potential to be a long term project and we'd love to find someone who stays with us for the long haul.
PROJECT PARTICULARS
You must enjoy writing and be very good at it. Anyone can write a boring review or listicle.
We require the write-ups to be engaging, detailed, helpful, personable, humorous with a touch of snarkiness. All in all, they must entertain as much as they inform.
You must have (or be willing to open) a Paypal account for invoicing.
Familiarity with WordPress an asset.
LOCATION:
You can work wherever you want. However, you must be a native English speaker and be able to write for a primarily US audience.
TIME REQUIREMENT:
Ideally, you can work 20 hours per week on average. However, there is no set schedule and your time is totally flexible.
We do have a decent sized backlog of content that's been written and needs to be edited right now.
So if you have the availability, you could likely work full-time at least for a while as we get caught up.
REMUNERATION:
$15/hour to start
You will be paid weekly by tracking your hours in our Hubstaff system and then Paypal will pay you automatically.
This is a freelancer position.
DELIVERY OF ARTICLES
You will be assigned articles via Asana, complete them in Frase and then assign them to our publishing team. (We'll show how to do this, it's very easy)
START DATE
The position starts immediately.
HOW TO APPLY
You can apply via the Pro Blogger Job Board.
Your cover letter should be in the body of the email (please don't attach it).
PLEASE NOTE that we read the cover letter in the email body to assess writing capability. If it's boilerplate and boring, we'll probably not reply.
Write the email so that it's interesting - show us your writing chops.
Let me know if you have any expertise or interest in the industries I mentioned earlier, I'd love to hear about it.
Kindly provide 3 writing samples, preferably web writing. Simply include URLs to the samples.
Please confirm your start date as well. Also, let us know if you are available to edit & write for us in the long term.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
