Description
Our Vision and Content Strategy for HYOPR
Our aim for HYOPR is to own the PR space for small and medium businesses, offering the tools they need to create successful PR campaigns. We view content as the means of educating our audience about the benefits of PR for their business, providing genuinely valuable information that enable them to successfully run their own PR.
We are looking for writers to create regular articles on the subject of PR relevant to small and medium businesses.
We want content that is specific and unique – not general fluff pieces about ‘Why PR is Great for Business’. Our content needs to be highly valuable and worth our reader’s time by solving a problem or answering a question.
Tone/Style Details
- Conversational tone.
- The post must help readers accomplish something.
- Word length should be appropriate to the topic, rather than a set number of words to reach a target. We are looking for writing that is concise but goes into depth on the given topic. As a rough guide, however, between 500-1500 words.
- The post must include relevant examples.
- Fully formatted with sub-headings to help the reader skim the article and be signposted along the way.

About Handle Your Own PR
Handle Your Own PR is a new Australian startup, offering PR training and an online PR platform for business owners who want to gain skills and manage their own PR campaigns, rather than paying an agency to do it for them.
HYOPR offers the following services.
Training: online video training course, eworkbooks, videos of interviews with journalists and mentoring.
PR Platform: online platform that businesses use to create their PR campaigns, generate media contacts, write media releases and send their campaign emails.
Media Lists: online store selling lists of media contacts.
We founded HYOPR because we realised PR is hugely beneficial in growing businesses, but most small and medium businesses can’t afford to pay an agency, so are locked out of reaping the benefits of good PR.
