Description

Overview

Scandification is an online publication dedicated to the amazing region of Scandinavia.

Initially launched as a travel blog in 2019, Scandification branched out as a result of the pandemic, and is now a growing knowledge bank covering Denmark, Sweden and Norway – along with Iceland, Finland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Welcoming thousands of daily readers, we’re dedicated to providing insightful and engaging content, which is where you come in…

About you

To make Scandification truly authentic, we’re seeking to establish long-term relationships with experienced, native writers to join our team as ‘featured’ contributors.

If you’re fluent in written English, and have a thorough knowledge of Scandinavia (as a whole), Sweden, Denmark or Norway we’re keen to hear from you.

As a talented writer, you’ll quickly become a valuable asset to our team and can expect to receive assignments that will vary in length, from 1,500 to 3,000+ words. We’ll cover diverse topics from response posts and research-based articles, to stories about places, spaces, brands and travel.

As part of each assignment, you’ll be expected to make recommendations for imagery, for us to fine tune in-house.

Our working relationship will be built on two-way dialogue and trust.

About us

Scandification is owned by Fabrik Brands and managed by a team of highly experienced digital marketers, who understand SEO. We use proven techniques to drive traffic to our web pages, and we work closely with writers to generate highly visible content.

We should add that we’re not seeking to establish relationships with ‘generalist’ writers.

We’d only like to hear from you if you possess genuine knowledge of Scandinavian and are (or have been) native to either:

—Denmark
—Sweden
—Norway
—Finland

Please note, we will not respond to automated applications, and we would only like to receive applications from candidates who meet the above criteria.

Skills:

—English as a second / first language, with exceptional grammar.

—A track record in creating insightful and engaging articles.

—Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

—Willingness to contribute ideas and thoughts to our website.

—Strong research and analytical skills.

—A thorough understanding of optimised content.

—A sense of pride and ownership in the work you produce.

—The ability to publish articles straight into WordPress (preferable but not imperative).

—Good communication skills.

Outcomes:

—Insightful and engaging articles and blog posts.

—Exceptionally high-quality publishing standards.

—A streamlined and harmonious working relationship.

—Minimal spelling and grammar modifications.

Benefits:

—You’ll be working with a personable and professional team.

—You’ll receive a written brief for each article we commission.

—We’ll do the keyword research, so you can concentrate on the creative part – writing.

—We will only cover relevant topics and subject matter.

—Highly-visible content, with you credited as an author on Scandification.

If we believe that you might be suitable for the role, we'll ask you for a short, (paid) test article. If you’re content with this, please include the word ‘Scandific’ in your application.

Projects will be commissioned on a long-term, freelance basis and you will be paid promptly. We will agree a flat, per-word rate, and the price of each post will be determined by the length of the article.

Thanks for reading this listing, we look forward to hearing from you!
