You're a content strategist/editor who knows their way around the Google Keyword Planner and can whip up directions for writers in a jiffy. You've done this for other sites and have managed teams...

You're a professional at strategizing a content plan (keywords and article format), and delegating the job to writers...then bring it home by editing/finalizing formatting...

We're a small internet publishing company with several million page views per month who needs help coming up with content to write, organizing content and managing writers and the content they produce...Often we know what we want to write about...but need help w/ nailing down the instructions for writers (article formatting), and editing, organizing so our developers can push live...

  1. Idea
    1. Something you might come up with, or something our team has determined is our next project goal that you can take into the next step...
  2. Keyword Research (SEO Related)
    1. What is the competition writing about? Do these terms get traffic?
    2. What keywords should we be incorporating semantically into our text?
  3. Strategy/Templating for Writers
    1. What would be a replicable format for this if we had 50 different states to write about? Can we have a scalable approach to writing?
    2. What would the headers be - how could they be consistent and incorporate keywords?
    3. How would you the article out into sections?
    4. How should things be formatted? What's important to convey?
    5. What should the writer focus on?
    6. What is the message?
  4. Delegating/Managing Writers
    1. Delegating tasks to writers - making sure they know what is expected of them
    2. Ensuring tasks are completed on time and meet expectations
    3. Following up with writers to ensure timeliness, quality and expectations being met
  5. Editing / Proofing
    1. Making sure content meets expectations and is written clearly...
    2. Without fluff or non-pertinent wording
    3. Ensuring perfect grammar and spelling
    4. Ensuring consistency between pieces of the same set (do the 10 articles look like they were written by 10 different people? --- they shouldn't)
  6. Finalizing
    1. Organizing edited content into a clear, easy to use manner for our dev team to add to sites
  7. Misc.
    1. You are not easily offended by occasionally having to write an article yourself
    2. You take constructive criticism well
    3. You are able delegate to a team and coordinate its direction
    4. You are able to hire/fire/provide constructive criticism to other writers
