We are looking for a great Content Operations Manager to lead our content team in a full-time, 100% remote role. Keep reading to find out what’s involved and how you can apply.
What You'll Be Doing
As the leader of our content team you'll manage and develop our team of content creators, editors, and designers. You are a seasoned people manager with strong team building and collaboration skills who effectively leads the delivery of learning resources to provide superior learning experiences and outcomes for our students.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with our Head of Content Direction and other subject matter experts, you'll manage the full life-cycle of learning content, from research, development, review, to publication.
You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the content team and are in charge of project management and reporting across content pipelines for a variety of resources, such as written tutorials, video courses, quizzes, office hours, podcast episodes, social media publications, and books. You're able to foresee potential roadblocks and conflicting priorities and mitigate those while keeping calm under pressure.
You'll mentor and develop your direct reports with 1:1s and run our weekly Content Team meeting to ensure the team is on track to execute against its plan. You'll help content team members manage workflows and deadlines and set them up for success by ensuring they have clear goals and everything they need to successfully complete their projects.
You're always driving for great quality, but you also know when to "go pencils down" and ship a product, working iteratively to continue to improve based on student and instructor feedback.
You'll utilize learner analytics, user feedback, and other content performance metrics to make data-driven roadmap and budgeting decisions. You'll work collaboratively with other content team members and company leadership to develop strategy and processes to continuously improve our production methods and learner outcomes.
You'll regularly connect with outside contributors and stakeholders, such as freelance authors and podcast guests. As the leader of the content team you'll help with recruiting and training new content staff members and freelance contributors.
Requirements
- You are a seasoned people manager with strong team building and operational skills. Helping others through mentorship, hands-on collaboration, and support motivates you as a leader.
- You are a self-starter with an analytical mindset who can quickly understand and develop processes and approaches in collaboration with others, and then implement, manage, and improve these processes on an ongoing basis.
- You have project management experience in a remote-work context and the ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions proactively in order to help the team deliver highly polished content deliverables consistently on time.
- You are passionate about teaching and making information easy to absorb, with a keen interest and competency in technology. You have work experience in established publishing companies or with e-learning providers.
- You are eager to learn and grow as the demands on your role evolve with the business. You are enthusiastic about personal development and growth as a leader.
- You are a highly effective communicator with clear writing and presentation skills. You have experience with online collaboration tools like Trello, Zoom, Google Docs, and Basecamp/Slack.
- You don't have to be a subject matter expert or Python programmer, but any programming experience is a plus.
- You have timezone overlap and the ability to collaborate with team members in Europe, North America, and the Philippines.
