About the Role
We're looking to add freelance writers to our content team to produce 2-5 pieces of content per week on an ongoing basis related to one or two of the following home improvement categories:
Home Warranty
Moving
Gutters
HVAC
Windows
Solar
Flooring
We are actively seeking writers with expertise in one or more of the specified categories. If you have a background in home improvement, we are eager to hear from you.
What We're Looking For
We're looking to hire 3-6 writers who can contribute a minimum of 2-5 articles (word count per article: 5,000-8,000) per week in one or two home improvement categories.
Our Ideal Candidate/Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in English, journalism, communications, advertising, or integrated/strategic communications.
Attention to detail, excellent grammar, and strong editing skills are a must.
2+ years experience with commercial writing/affiliate marketing.
Understands one or more home improvement categories and the nuances that go along with the trade.
The flexibility to adapt your writing style to meet our brand voice and guidelines.
The flexibility to adapt to new projects/pivots in direction.
Is tech-savvy (i.e., understands Google Docs, WordPress, etc.).
Ability to turn around an assigned piece under minimal instruction under various time constraints.
Compensation
Budget ranges from .10/word up to .15/word depending on the experience of the writer.
Do You Need to Have Experience With Home Improvement?
Yes, unless you have extensive experience in commercial content writing/affiliate marketing and a willingness to learn the ins and outs of a home improvement category quickly.
We have a high editorial standard to ensure the content produced meets and exceeds the expectations of our readers through "actionable insights" our readers can take away as value for consuming our content.
