You love camping and you’re no stranger to roadtripping for a weekend in the wilderness. You love to pitch a tent, cook at the campfire and stare at beautiful vistas at sunrise.
You also appreciate a warm shower and wifi..
Sound familiar? Read on.
Hey. I’m Jay, the creative director here at incaseofcamping.com.
"In Case of Camping" is an upcoming camping blog for people who love nature, adventure and the great outdoors, but don’t really care for the backpacker culture. We write about our personal camping stories and adventures, while at the same time providing practical, actionable and realistic camping advice to our readers.
We aim to become the number one resource for camping guides, advice and product reviews in the camping & outdoor space.
That’s where we need your help.
We’re looking to hire another writer to take on the task of writing in depth product reviews and other camping related content. Each blog post will be between 1500 and 2500 words. If you can deliver consistent quality work, there’s much room to grow beyond this.
Eventually I’d love to see you write epic posts about your own camping adventures, using equipment we sponsor.
Please note that we have very high editorial standards compared to most other blogs. Every post that we publish goes through our strict editorial process where we check all claims and ideas for accuracy. Our readers trust us and we absolutely must ensure the highest quality personal content.
That is to say - we don’t publish filler. If you plan to write SEO-optimized fluff, please move on.
Our budget (at the start) is around $200 for 2 x 1500-2500 word posts per week. We believe in rewarding excellent work, and with diligence you can turn this freelance gig into a fruitful job.
You'll be assigned topics by me and given a submission deadline. It's quite likely that in the first couple of weeks there will be a lot of feedback and editing required, but generally once a writer gets into the swing of things, that part should be minimal.
To get a feel for the sort of quality we are looking for, you can check out the blogs beyondthetent.com, andrewskurka.com, or of course our own site incaseofcamping.com. Note that we only require you to write the content, no web formatting or design is required.
So if you:

We're hiring 1-2 writers. This listing will stay open until 10th of July or until we find enough amazing people.
Thanks and good luck!
