Description

We are looking for an experienced Blog Editor and Writer for our Irvine, CA location to:

  • own our thought-leading B2B blog with over 17K subscribers
  • write for our full-service marketing agency and its healthcare clients.

The person in this position will consult with the team for ideas, create and execute an editorial schedule, conduct interviews, write the content, and promote the content via social media. The position will also write, edit and proofread digital marketing-based, SEO-friendly content, including: websites, landing pages, blog posts, display ads and text PPC ads. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience writing websites, landing pages and blog posts. Candidates also require a deep understanding of both SEO and conversion and will have healthcare experience (B2B and/or B2C). You will jump to the top of the list if you prove your writing skills and interest by sending us a persuasive cover letter as to why you are interested in our company and why you are the best candidate.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with all teams to generate ideas, research and suggest new topics, and create and execute the blog editorial schedule;
  • Follow marketing blogs, conduct interviews, and promote content via social media;
  • Work closely with our online team (SEO, PPC, web developers, social media, MarCom), Director of Client Services, Account Managers, Writers and even CEO to create marketing-based, SEO-friendly copy for our newsletter, clients and our corporate website;
  • Write compelling and conversational copy, excelling in correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar;
  • Provide copywriting, editing and proofreading services on online projects and occasionally offline projects;
  • Research, fact-check, and interview for accuracy and clarity;
  • Observe established departmental workflow processes and utilize project management tools;
  • Actively participate in creative team meetings and client presentations;
  • Work to tight deadlines;
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Create relationships with editors of other healthcare publications.

What You’ll Need:

The ideal candidate will have excellent English writing experience, editing, and proofreading skills along with the unique ability to know the audience’s needs, wants and problems, and how to address them successfully while incorporating SEO- and marketing-friendly content.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or related field;
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience writing (long-form blogs, website copy, landing pages, etc.) either for a marketing agency, PR agency or healthcare provider;
  • In-house position – must be based in Orange County, CA;
  • Highly interested in marketing and marketing technology;
  • Working knowledge of SEO and how content is shared on digital media;
  • Understanding of online advertising, including PPC and display;
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Expertise with common style guides and grammar/usage standards;
  • Exemplary attendance and job performance;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office on a Mac computer, Adobe, and Basecamp or another similar project software. WordPress would be a plus;
  • The ability to write quality content quickly;
  • Able to switch effortlessly between projects when necessary.
