Our organization, Hello World (https://www.helloworldstudio.org/), is doing incredible work in the K12 education + computer science space, however, our team doesn't have the skillset or bandwidth to promote our work on news and media outlets.
We are looking for someone who has experience writing for / connections with one or more of the following reputable networks so we can spread the word on our work:
EdSource (California based)
News stations in Bay Area or Austin, TX
Local newspapers in Bay Area or Austin, TX
This could also include who articles get picked up on PR News Wire, something we have limited familiarity with. We'd also ideally like someone who has experience with writing K12 education - specific articles so they are familiar with trends and important changes within that space.
Linked here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jbJQzLf96OpD_cS6eMWncdxoODk2YU1-f2TVdCZYmCc/edit) you'll find the type of work we're doing, which we believe to be very newsworthy! For example, working with Khan Academy in Mountain View, working at a well-known all girls public school in Austin, and a low-income school in Austin.
The deliverable would be 1-3 articles about specific projects we have worked in, including access to stakeholders for interview purposes. The freelancer would need to demonstrate published articles on the news outlets above or specific connections to such news outlets as this posting is both about writing the article and getting it published in great places. If you only have experience in one of these two areas (writing or connections in news), please still reach out!
