This Dog's Life (www.thisdogslife.co) is looking for a writer who is crazy about dogs, interested in covering news-you-can use dog stories (e.g. tips, how-tos), interviewing experts and writing inspirational stories for dog parents.

We are looking for someone who can commit to 1-2 stories a week, each should take on average 1.5 hours, with some being longer and others shorter. Some of the stories would be a single source, while others would be multiple. Almost all of the reporting can be done via email.

The writer must have a solid track record (clips are a must), able to develop story angles and questions and work within the timeframe required. Also, adding your personality and voice to a story.

Requirements:
Prior writing experience required. We are looking for someone with an understanding of how to dig for a story, how to research it, interview, write clean copy and use strong storytelling to make a piece impactful and memorable. We are also for someone who understands the voice. (We try to be conversational and cheerful.)

Our philosophy emphasizes being informative with original reporting. We aim to have pieces of at least 500-800 words and it is digestible. The evergreen stories (e.g. 5 ways coconut oil is great for your dog) would be a bit longer and would require reaching out to an expert for advice. Again, there is also opportunities to tackle feature stories and provide an in-depth look at certain issues, companies and products.
