We’re looking for talented and flexible writers who can write for either a travel website or a language learning website. Entry-level writers are welcome as long as you meet the requirements below.
Job details:
You will be writing articles that are fun and informative—under your own byline.
For the travel website, articles will be mainly listicles on destination- or culture-related topics such as “35 Fun Facts About Seattle” or “25 Famous French Foods”.
As for the language learning website, topics revolve around resources for language learning (e.g., books, podcasts, apps), reviews of language learning resources, language learning tips, facts about languages, and more. Most topics are formatted as listicles.
For both websites, you can inject your voice and share your personal experiences, honest thoughts and opinions, and personal knowledge.
The articles will be delivered either via Google Docs or WordPress, with links to photos included.
This position is long-term and flexible. You can write 2 to 5 articles per month depending on your availability. The first 3 articles will be a paid trial. After the trial, the articles will be attributed to your writer’s profile; otherwise, it’s ghostwritten.
Compensation:
- A flat rate of $55 USD (or an equivalent in your home currency) per article
- Each article is 2,000 words and above, complete with links to photos
- Prompt payment within 2 working days after article submission
- Payment will be made via Wise.com (direct to your bank account or to your Wise account)
We are looking for writers who:
- Have an excellent command of English (native or near-native)
- Can write articles that require zero editing. Proficiency in proper grammar and spelling is required.
- Have strong research skills and can produce 100% accurate content, even for topics that you’re not initially knowledgeable on.
- Are willing to take up various topics
- Are looking for a long-term working relationship
- Can write in-depth pieces with personality. You should be able to make what others might consider a “dry” topic sound interesting. You should also sound knowledgeable.
- Are willing to source for photos (from Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, or Shutterstock). Even better if you can supply some of your own travel photos.
- Can help with naming images
Bonus if you:
- Have experience in web writing
- Understand SEO and keywords
Specific requirements for the travel website:
- Applicant must be well-traveled and can speak from experience
- Must be passionate about traveling and creating travel-related content
- Must not be daunted by writing long-form listicles with >20 points.
- Must use the word ‘explorer’ creatively in their application, so we know you’ve read this.
Specific requirements for the language learning website:
- Applicant must be language learners, language teachers, or language experts
- Must have passion for writing content on language learning resources, tips to learn languages, etc.
- Must use the phrase ‘learning is fun’ creatively in their application, so we know you’ve read this.
