Description
We are looking for professional script writers (native English speakers or highly fluent speakers) for our weight loss YouTube channel.
The channel discusses weight loss related topics such as: diets, healthy foods, how to lose weight, various weight loss approaches, workouts and similar. Our main goal is to entertain our audience, however we are highly committed to providing accurate and sound information.
The style of the channel is similar to the YouTube channel “Bestie”: https://www.youtube.com/c/BestieMedia/videos
The scripts will need to be written with the YouTube audience in mind: they will need to catch their attention fast with a good intro that elicits curiosity. They will also need to intrigue the audience with interesting facts and engaging writing so people keep watching.
Scripts will need to be written in plain English, with a simple style (no long sentences, no complex structure) and a friendly and conversational tone. They will usually be in list format.
WORKLOAD
We will start with a single script to begin with, however we are looking for regular writers and we will provide weekly scripts (normally one per week, however there might be more flexibility).
For each script, you’ll be given a title and an outline with topics to discuss and key ideas to include. We will provide detailed feedback on your work so that fewer or no revisions are needed (we’ll do the final editing anyway, especially to begin with).
Each script will need to be around 1500-1600 words.
PAYMENT
Each script is paid at a flat rate of $80 (considering 1600 words, that’s $0.05 per word). Payment is sent once the final version of the script has been delivered.
GUIDELINES
We will provide our script writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), consisting of a word document of a few pages that details the work you are expected to do.
We will also provide some sample scripts for you to draw inspiration from (these are previous scripts we have already used).
As a writer you will need to have an understanding of our audience’s psychology (ie why are they looking for that type of video, what information will keep them engaged and entertained). We will give you some information on that. You will also need knowledge of the topic and be able to do some research on interesting facts on it.
It is absolutely essential that the script contains NO plagiarism (we will check), copy/paste and anything that could lead to copyright claims. Also, we won't work with AI generated scripts.
HIRING PROCESS
First, you’ll send an application including a few links to previous scripts, articles or blogs you’ve written. Please include 4-6 examples. Please note: it’s highly important that you include proof of previous work, otherwise we won’t be able to consider your application. Please provide links rather than attachments (for security reasons).
After considering your application, if we think we are a good fit, we’ll send over our script writing SOPs. The SOPs will give you a better idea of what the job entails. We will also answer your questions. If you like the job and want to move forward, we will ask you to write a short sample script of about 400 words. Unfortunately we can’t pay this, however we will only select writers who provide evidence of skilled work, so this is likely to turn into a paid assignment anyway.
If the short sample script goes well, we’ll start working together immediately!
