Writing is how I chase life. I am fascinated by the human experience, and want to access all its dimensions. My blog (brainboggles.wordpress.com) is my finest expedition into the complex terrain of the human mind so far. Here I write to demystify science from the evolving niche of neuropsychology. I have also been published for content on education, civic engagement and women's health.
I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Journalism from Rhodes University in South Africa. I graduated top of class with dual-distinction and honors. My degree has proven invaluable for my writer’s toolkit. I am able to generate high-quality stories from a diverse range of briefs, flourish under looming deadlines, connect and communicate with sources, reference meticulously, and top it all off with creative sparkle.
I am emotionally intelligent and love working in teams. I am energetic, creative and eager to learn. I have great time management and pride myself on being self-driven, disciplined and dedicated.
Education
I graduated top of class with distinction in both Journalism and Psychology. I have won several awards for both subjects.
Experience
SADAG is the South African Depression and Anxiety Group. I run a weekly Support Group for young adults battling with Anxiety, Depression and Trauma.
Beautiful Life Community is a non-profit organisation which offers support to families in distress. I have written and edited articles for their funding campaigns.
Lifeline is a non-profit organisation which provides accessible emotional support to people experiencing distress, abuse, trauma and crisis. I am involved in email counselling, and have responded to cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, anxiety and depression.
Grocott’s Mail is South Africa’s oldest independent newspaper. I was involved in several civic engagement initiatives and wrote stories to spread awareness and generate public support. I also wrote stories surrounding education and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on schools.
