The Gig
I run the Home Buying Tips UK website, and we’re on a mission to make all first time buyers experts in property buying. We produce a range of different content for our readers, from location guides, to mortgage tips, even pointing out key costs for people to look out for.
We’re looking to hire a freelance writer who can contribute regularly to our site.
What we’re looking for
Our ideal candidate….
- Is an English native writer.
- Loves the property industry and likes to keep up with related news.
- Has at least 3 years of experience writing for publications
- Can write engaging, informative posts to an audience that is new to home buying.
- Knows how to optimise articles for SEO (we are looking for your content to rank well on search engines).
- Can write a mixture of short form pieces (about 1500 words) to longer writing.
- Is capable of researching a topic thoroughly to generate a genuinely useful piece of work beyond the stuff you find on the first page of google links.
- Can make deadlines on writing pieces
- Is accepting of feedback and prepared to refine writing style as needed.
- Must be familiar with the UK property market (all of articles focus on the UK audience and other countries have different property systems)
Our Plan For Our Writers
We want our partnerships with our writers to grow over time. Everyone has an individual style for writing – which is what makes the profession so great! But we also want to ensure consistency across our site, and with every new piece of work we receive from you we would love for your writing style to align with ours. When everyone is on the same wavelength – results can be amazing!
In the future we would love to be able to give you a keyword and topic and let you loose to create your own work! For the starting stages though we will provide outlines and plans with you.
We have over 50 articles in our planning to get on our site as soon as we can, so there is plenty of work available.
