We publish several high-profile websites, one of which is a wedding business. (Specifically a service for wedding photographers)
We are looking to hire a writer to write content such as:
- Winter Wedding Ideas
- Wedding Etiquette (Who pays, who to tip, invitations)
- Cute BOHO Wedding Dress Ideas
- Engagement Photo Ideas With Your Dog
PROJECT SCOPE
This is an ongoing project since we're regularly publishing new content on our site. It certainly has the potential to be a long term project and may include opportunities to update existing content in the future.
PROJECT PARTICULARS
You must enjoy writing and be very good at it. Anyone can write a boring review or listicle.
We require the write-ups to be engaging, detailed, helpful, personable, humorous with a touch of snarkiness. All in all, they must entertain as much as they inform.
We don't need you to "do SEO" but we'll assign you topics based on a keyword that we plan to rank for in Google. From there, we'll give you some simple strategies on how to build an outline and make sure your article is meeting the writer's expectations.
For product articles, we'll ask that you find ideas from places like Etsy and Amazon to create lists like "20 Funny Wedding Cake Toppers"
Word counts will vary and be provided with each assignment, but our articles are typically 1,000 - 2,000 words, with some exceptions for long-form content.
You must have (or be willing to open) a Paypal account for invoicing.
Familiarity with WordPress an asset.
LOCATION:
You can work wherever you want. However, you must be a native English speaker and be able to write for a primarily US audience.
DEADLINE:
Ideally, you can complete 3 to 5 articles per week. The first batch may take a bit longer as you get up to speed.
REMUNERATION:
$.06 USD per word.
You will be paid weekly by sending us an invoice via Paypal for all of the work you completed that week.
This is a freelancer position.
DELIVERY OF ARTICLES
You will be assigned articles via Asana, complete them in Frase and then assign them to our editor. (We'll show you how this works, and it's a very simple process).
START DATE
The position starts immediately.
HOW TO APPLY

Your cover letter should be in the body of the email (please don't attach it).
PLEASE NOTE that we read the cover letter in the email body to assess writing capability. If it's boilerplate and boring, we'll probably not reply.
Write the email so that it's interesting - show us your writing chops.
We'd also love to test your sense of style to make sure it fits our audience. Could you include a few links to products on Etsy you'd choose as decor for your fall wedding?
Our audience tends to be young and hip, so having a writer who can curate ideas that resonate with our readers is important
Kindly provide 3 writing samples, preferably web writing. Simply include URLs to the samples.
Please confirm your start date as well. Also, let us know if you are available to write for us in the long term.
