Description
Hi all,
I’m a freelance writer specializing in financial niches. I’ve been having to turn away work because I have no more capacity, and would like to have a ghostwriter that I can trust to handle the excess going forward.
I’ll set you up with some projects from my existing clients in the beginning, then pass off an increasing amount as I take on more business (if you have the room).
Please read through the role requirements carefully before applying.
The Basics
- Submit work on time (please - don’t apply if you miss deadlines)
- Want a long-term partnership with recurring weekly work (1-5 articles)
- Write long-form pieces between 1,000 and 2,000 words, primarily in finance-related niches
- Rate is $0.10 per word to start, paid monthly via Paypal (potential rate raises in time as my clientele grows and rates increase)
Writing Skill
I’m looking for someone whose work I don’t have to edit very much. I expect some minimal amount as you get used to the clients and my style, but I’d like to get to a point pretty quickly where I can read through your pieces, make little or no changes, and feel comfortable submitting them to clients.
You should feel confident in your ability to write long-form articles to each client’s specifications in an authoritative but engaging way (standard stuff). I don’t care much how long you’ve been writing professionally, as long as you can write well and reasonably rapidly.
Technical Knowledge
Most of my clients are in the finance niche or those directly adjacent to it. You’ll be asked to cover subjects like the following:
- Credit: Building scores, managing credit accounts, explaining the system
- Taxes: Freelancers vs. employees, capital gains vs. ordinary income, etc.
- Investing: Retirement accounts, strategies, stocks, cryptocurrency
- Accounting: Financial statements, business entities, profitability
- The Basics: Saving, investing, basic economics, paying off debt, etc.
The topics may shift over time as my client base changes, but they’ll usually be in the realm of money and its dealings in some form or another. You may have the occasional assignment in other niches like marketing, but these will be rare (if any).
Of course, you don’t have to perfectly understand every article brief without research, but you should have a solid understanding of foundational to intermediate financial subjects.
Bonus Points
Bonus points if you:
- Have professional experience in finance or accounting (CPA, CFA, etc.)
- Actively pursue the FI/RE path or investing
- Have studied philosophy
- Read fiction
- Practice BJJ (not relevant, I just love it)
Feel free to mention any of these in your application.
How to Apply
To apply, send me an email at [email protected] with the subject line "Financial Ghostwriter (ProBlogger)" or fill out the form above. Please include the following:
- A 3-4 sentence overview of your experience with writing and finance
