Our team is looking for a freelance writer with knowledge in the higher education space. More specifically, someone who knows about financing higher education and how scholarships, FAFSA, and student loans for higher education works.
This is the perfect job for someone with the following skillsets:
- Writing skills (for blog posts)
- Intimate understanding of higher education and how to finance higher education/scholarships
- Excellent research and communication skills
As a Freelance Content Writer, you are an integral part of the blog content production process and will be responsible for:
- Conducting research into the topic you've been tasked to write about
- Outlining the structure of the article
- Providing input and your opinion on the strategic direction we take the blog post
- Writing a comprehensive and unique blog post that is the best piece of content about that specific topic on the internet
- Editing your writing before passing it along to the editor on our team
At Ardent Growth, we work with a number of freelancers. It is incredibly important to us that you feel supported and like you're part of the team (because you are). If you're tired of the typical freelancer BS and want to be treated like a person and not someone who's disposable, we'd love to talk to you.
An ideal candidate would look something like this:
- Bachelors in English, Communication, Journalism, or a related field
- 2+ years experience writing blog content with the goal of ranking that content in Google for specific keywords
- You're an excellent researcher and can wrap your head around and write about complicated subjects
- You're excellent at outlining and determining the optimal way to structure content
- You're comfortable using a project management tool like ClickUp, Asana, etc.
- You're comfortable using Google Doc features like suggesting mode, comments, headings, etc.
- You're an effective communicator
- You're organized, punctual, and deadline oriented
- You're creative and not afraid to speak your mind (yes, we actually would love to hear your opinion on things)
