Are you somebody who is about passionate about black hair products like wigs and weaves? Do you find yourself spending hours on YouTube trying to learn the ins and outs of various hair terms and DIY how-to’s - such as at home dyeing your wigs and wearing your weaves on your own? Or if you are someone whose friends always go to for the latest black hairstyle trends?
If any of the above sounds like you, then we’d love to talk to you! We’re looking for TWO experienced writers who are fiercely passionate about all things related to black women hair and beauty (Black salon experience will be a plus) to be part of our content team.
You will be writing product roundup and review type of articles as well as informational articles - ranging from 800 words per article to 1.5 -2.5K words per article, or even more. There will be content templates and editorial guidelines provided to ensure readers get the most out of their time. Hence, you must be able to work with at times rigid, yet reader-friendly structure.
We are NOT looking for generic, SEO-optimised articles. You must possess a degree of technical understanding of black hair and wigs, derived from accumulated personal / salon experience, or through cosmetology training.
All articles should be well-researched, cited, and written in a manner that resonates with the target audience, which means light, conversational tone.
Preferably, committed writers who will be the author of the sites (not ghostwriters) - and seek to work on a long term basis.
Rate expectation: $0.06 - $0.10 per word or higher depending on subject matter expertise. Writers who lack writing experience may apply if possess strong niche expertise.
Expecting 5K - 10K words per week depending on your capacity. We have 300+ article topics in the content pipeline, so consider that as well on top of the rate.
