Description

Are you looking for a stable job in these rough times? Have you finished all the series on Netflix and now you have too much free time? Come to the dark side, we have exciting work for you. Despite what's happening in the world right now, we are looking to increase our productivity and help people take better care of their furry friends. We provide accurate information that they can later use to make their dogs' lives happier and healthier.

If you answered yes to these questions, then read on. You can scroll down if you’re a cat parent or allergic to pets, as well :).

My name is Cess and I’m a Project Manager here at OswaldoMedia and I will be your point of contact throughout the whole recruiting process.

We run a number of authoritative websites. Our sites' mission is to be the trusted expert in breed, nutrition, health, and training information for dogs and advocate for responsible dog ownership.

And we are doing pretty well – we have more than 400, 000 monthly visitors across our portfolio of websites. This means, 13, 000 dog lovers from all over the world read our articles every single day!

We’re looking for a few expert dog writers who can help us expand our sites.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to write about the thing you love most - Dogs! Whether you’re a hobbyist or consider yourself a pro on the topic, we want you to write for us. You’ll be covering a wide range of topics, including the wider pet genre in general.

For this, we need a true expert - no fakers here, please! If you don’t truly have a passion for dogs and writing, it’s not going to work, I’m afraid.

Still reading? Great!

So, what’s in it for you? Not only do you get to make money from your passion, but you’ll also be part of a wider team that is driven to grow the website further. We’ll give you a consistent, flexible flow of work alongside world-class editorial tools to ensure you’re able to produce the very best content with minimal bottlenecks.

You’ll also get to be part of an exciting, growing project with a bright future and for which we have big plans in the pipeline.

Please note that we have very high editorial standards compared to most other blogs. Every post that we publish goes through our strict editorial process where we check all claims and ideas for accuracy as well as the consistency of thoughts.

You'll be assigned topics by myself or an Editor and given a submission deadline. It's quite likely that in the first couple of weeks there will be a lot of feedback and editing required, but generally, once a writer gets into the swing of things, that part should be minimal.

What you'll do:

  • Deep topic research: article outline creation (headings/subheadings/subtopics)
  • Awesome Quality Writing
  • Searching for high-quality images

Who are you?

  • You have at least 3+ years of writing experience.
  • You are a native English speaker or you’re fluent both in writing and speaking.
  • Must have long-form high-quality writing samples.
  • You’re a “get sh*t done” type of person. We all encounter personal problems from time to time. We won’t control you but we count on you to finish everything on time.
  • Excellent communicator. We believe communication is the foundation in any relationship. You should be able to talk to us whenever there is something you are not pleased with. Moreover, you need to be able to handle feedback. Both positive and negative.
  • Google Docs/Sheets usage experience.
  • You have a basic understanding of SEO. Knowing how a website ranks based on keywords would suffice.
  • You pay attention to every little detail.
  • Google is your friend when you need to find something.

Benefits:

  • You get to write about interesting topics. Dogs are awesome! (I’m sorry cat owners...)
  • Competitive freelance rates: we pay 3 cents per word from the beginning. Rates may increase depending on your performances
  • flexible working hours (you can work at your timezone)
  • Consistent workload every week: 5000-8000 words
  • Reasonable deadlines
  • Stable work as part of a high performing team
  • The opportunity to be promoted to the role of an Editor with an hourly rate (only if you would like to)

IMPORTANT: Before answering to “Why do you want this position?” question, start your answer with the word “Bonjour” and don’t forget to include my name right after it. We want to make sure applicants have read and understood this job ad (you'd be surprised how many automated replies we get!) so if any of these two are not included in your application, it will be deleted right away and not considered.

Thanks and good luck!

P.S. Be ready to take a thorough paid test job.
