Description

Hi,

We're looking for writers who are partner dancers and interested in writing articles about it on a long-term basis. We are interested in hearing from dancers of all (partner-based) styles.

Just to be clear: partner dancing refers to a dance in which there are normally two people (unless they are playing with partner sharing and/or swapping) and there is probably a leader-follower aspect.

Ideal Writers

  • You will do or have done partner dancing, although you may be a beginner
  • You are comfortable working with an editor and to a Style Guide
  • You don't need to be a native English speaker

Payment

A base rate will be agreed with each writer. For more challenging articles, however, a higher rate will be offered. This higher rate will be negotiated on an article-by-article basis to reflect:

  • The writer's skill
  • The article topic and difficulty

For example, "How Merengue Shaped Other Latin Dances" would have a higher compensation than "10 Salsa Songs for Beginners", since it would require deeper expertise and/or greater research time.

At a minimum, payment will be $0.05/word. For more skilled writers and challenging articles, payment could exceed $0.10/word.

Payment will be made via bank transfer. If you would prefer to be paid in a different currency, that's a possibility (depending on what the currency is).

Assignment Frequency

This will depend on how many writers we decide to take on, as well as the dance styles/types of articles you are happy to write. For now, it is unlikely to exceed one article a month.

Further Article Details

  • You will get a byline (but can use a pen name if you prefer)
  • This is not content marketing or copy writing
