Description
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Computer Science or a related field, or 4 years of practical experience
- 3 years of experience in writing technical documentation
- 2 years of experience with Marketing, Content, Social, and/or Analytics
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS
- Ability to understand source code written in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, and/or C++.
- Online publishing including experience with writing technical material in a way that does more than simply get the message across — but helps engage readers and motivate them to learn more about a subject
About the job
The technical writer is a critical link between marketing managers, engineers, and web developers. The technical writer will repurpose information-rich content into content marketing deliverables that can be used to help:
- Establish thought leadership
- Increase visibility
- Build trust with in-house marketers at medium to large companies
Your job will be to communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a technical writer, your role will involve tasks such as:
- Writing conceptual overviews and procedures
- Writing or updating content to answer help and FAQs
- Communicate with marketing and technology professionals through conceptual documentation, detailed developer guides, and other online materials
