My first “professional” blog article was $1 for 500 words.

That was a decade ago now. Over the following 10 years, I spent a lot of time studying Internet Marketing and continued as a full-time freelancer.

(Technically, I still am.)

Only, these days, I’m leading a team of freelancers instead of cranking out 5,000 words in a day. While along my journey, I learned just how many intricate facets going into being a successful freelancer. The ultimate lesson: freelancing isn’t a job, it’s a business.

I want to change what it means to be a freelance writer. If you would have asked me 5 years ago, I would have told you it was isolated, disconnected, and hard.

However, it’s only true if we believe it to be true. Let’s make it something different. You and I (and all the others reading this). We can create a content machine that provides a consistent, stable income. How? Because we banded together and played to our strengths.

So, that’s why I started Blog Writing HQ. I want to build a company where you can work full-time on the part of freelancing you like best. (And so I can do the same!) It’s in its infancy, and I’m so excited you’re here with me!
