Description

We’re looking for experienced writers to help create a series of country guides for a global employment company.

Each guide will explain what international employers need to know when hiring in a specific country, covering topics such as employment requirements, payroll, benefits, contracts, termination, and practical hiring considerations.

Important: All content must be originally human-written. We do not accept AI-generated or AI-rewritten copy.

For each country, you’ll receive:

  • An existing country guide with reliable, up-to-date factual information
  • A 30-minute interview with an expert who has firsthand experience hiring in that market
  • A sample guide showing the expected style and structure
  • You may need to do some additional research, but this is not primarily a research-from-scratch role.

What we need

The most important part of this role is being able to take factual or technical information and turn it into clear, readable, engaging content while maintaining a professional tone.

We need writers with strong editorial judgment who can:

  • Identify what genuinely matters to an international employer in each country
  • Decide which information deserves more explanation and which can be covered briefly
  • Recognize when a topic is important enough to expand on
  • Avoid including information simply because it is available
  • Extract useful insights from expert interviews and develop them naturally
  • Explain what employment requirements mean in practice, rather than simply stating the rule
  • Turn dry compliance information into content that is easy and interesting to read
  • Keep articles country-specific and avoid generic HR advice
  • Structure long-form content clearly without repetition, filler, or unnecessary detail
  • Our aim is not to create the most comprehensive guide possible. We want the most useful guide possible.

That means you need to be comfortable making decisions about what to include, what to leave out, and how much detail a particular topic actually needs.

Interview attendance is required

Writers will be expected to attend the 30-minute expert interview for each country they are assigned.

This is a core part of the role, not an optional extra. The interviews provide the firsthand insights that help make each guide genuinely useful and different from generic employment content.

You should be comfortable listening actively, identifying the most valuable points, and using those insights to shape the guide.

Strong writing ability and editorial judgment are more important to us than already being an employment-law expert.

Experience with HR, payroll, employment, legal/compliance, EOR, finance, or other technical B2B topics is a bonus.

Project details

  • 2,000–2,500 words per guide
  • $170 fixed rate per completed guide
  • 30-minute expert interview required for each assigned country
  • Large ongoing project with many countries available

Application Instructions

Please send:

- 2–3 strong B2B writing samples, ideally showing your ability to make a technical or factual subject engaging and easy to understand.

- Confirmation that you’re comfortable attending the required 30-minute interviews and writing without generative AI.

- Confirmation that you’re comfortable writing without generative AI. Using AI tools could result in non-payment.

- Shortlisted writers will be invited to complete a paid 700–900-word writing test.
