Each lesson learned uses a format of just 3 sentences and less than 100 words.
Lessons learned are only required from the following categories: cloud computing (PAAS, IAAS, SAAS), Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), IP telephony, or contact centre technologies (telephony, voice recording, CRM, etc).
The lessons learned can be sourced from your experience or through online research and must not already exist on techlessonslearned.com (check by doing a category search).
The target audience of the lessons learned is people in large companies involved with technology projects. This includes CIOs, IT Directors and project managers. Lessons learned should be relevant to this audience and must be written from the perspective of end user companies (not from the perspective of vendors or reseller companies). Lessons learned relevant to consumer technology or small/ medium business technology must be avoided.

It is our experience that well crafted lessons learned take an average of 20 minutes to produce. The first lessons take longer to produce while getting familiar with the format requirement. Lessons from personal experience take less time to produce, however there is a limit to how many most people can recall. Please consider this as advice only and make your own estimate as part of proposing your required remuneration.
